Hey there! Guess who’s (almost) officially on Summer break?! This girl! So, recently I went to see Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, and as promised, I’d show you some pictures! We sat quite far from the main stage, but the second stage where she played a few songs was pretty close to us, so we got some good pictures there.
Remember me? Yeah, hi. I’m Olivia, and I’m feeling a little apologetic at the moment. Continuous work is starting to pile up, having my final exam on the twenty first. I’ve also been a little unmotivated, because I’ve been thinking about starting a YouTube channel. Well, actually, that would be a bit of an understatement. I have been watching YouTube for three whole years now, and have been desperate to start one of my own. So, maybe you could look out for that in the future? Hmmmmm….
Well, for now, I have my current favourites for you! May has absolutely FLOWN, and I have managed to snag a few outstanding favourite things the past little while.
As always, let’s start with music, shall we?
This month I have been getting into lots of Ed Sheeran, and a couple favourite songs of his are Lego House and Wake Me Up. His voice is heavenly, as I’m sure you’ve heard. Funny story actually, a girl in one of my classes DOESN’T KNOW WHO HE IS. How can you be living if you don’t know who Ed Sheeran is? Really? Haha, I think I almost choked. Looking forward to seeing him soon!
A few odds and ends are Come Home by OneRepublic, How to Save a Life by the Fray, and Eat That Up, It’s Good For You by Two Door Cinema Club. The first two are very deep, slow songs, and the last one is just a fun summer song I found from none other than YouTubers.
This month I read The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, and it is safe to say it is my favourite book I’ve read. It was probably the most tragic, tear-jerking thing EVER. I don’t want to give away anything because I’d really recommend you reading it, but here’s a synopsis from here:
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years,
Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter
inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a
patient named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about
to be completely rewritten.
It was a very depressing novel, but completely worth it if you’re into it. Hazel has a very different take on life, adding hilarious sarcastic gestures on just about anything. Something I really enjoyed was that the author made everything have two sides. Hazel has very strong opinions on cliches, and her point of view really shines out.
My favourite video of the month is by Dan and Phil, YouTubers. They made this a while ago, and I just found it a few days ago. Have a good laugh.
I’ve started watching The Vampire Diaries this month, and it’s like Gossip Girl all over again. Love love love. It’s like a Pretty Little Liars mixed with Criminal Minds or something. The show is also very similar to The Secret Circle, which you may be familiar with.
So those are the most prominent favourites of the month of May for me, what are yours? I’ll talk to you guys soon!
Hello everyone! I am completely aware that I JUST did a PLL related post last week, but I wasn’t aware that this week was the spring finale, so I’m going to do another one! This post will be different because I am just going to tell you my thoughts and predictions of what’s going to happen tonight, and what’s going to happen on future episodes. If you are not caught up on PLL, don’t read this! I will be saying every spoiler possible that has recently happened on the show, I’m sure.
- Toby isn’t dead!? No! It has been super sketchy with him being A in the first place, never mind him now just being dead! It’s moving way to fast with this, and he cannot be dead, for many reasons. Something’s up! I still think that he is double teaming, too. At the end of last episode, the guy’s tattoo was rubbed off, so it was fake to make Spencer think it was real. There is no way they would kick off one of the most suspicious people on the show, never mind one of the biggest couples on the show.
- Spencer isn’t A. Maybe she’s double teaming too? If she is A, this leads to so many paths that hurt my mind to think about. So, I’m not going to go into that. I had a small theory that’s a little farfetched, but I was thinking that maybe she could of found that hoodie in Radley, and it was Mona’s…? She was in her old room, after all. Everyone is pretty dead set that it actually was hers though. I’m hoping she’s double teaming to get some answers. She is the brains of the group, and also the leader, so she has stepped forward. Did she kidnap Malcolm?
- Ezra & Aria….oh wait, who cares? Literally, the most boring part of the show! I haven’t even thought about those two.
- Ali has a twin. Now there are so many possibilites with this one too. Did they swap identities and the Ali that the girls knew isn’t the same one in the red coat because the other one really is dead? Did Ali’s twin die, and Ali just left, but now she’s in the red coat? For all we know, they could both be alive. Haha, watch it be triplets.
- The red coat….who in the WORLD is it? Cece? Ali? Ali’s twin? I really have no idea. I am thinking it could be someone in the Ali mask though because it has been leaked that’s it’s a blonde, but that doesn’t mean anything! It could be Jenna in the mask with a blonde wig!! Haha
So those are my predictions for the show. If I left someone out *cough cough Ezria & Haleb cough cough* it’s quite frankly because I DO NOT CARE! I am so caught up in the whole Alison side of the story that I have no time for the couples, except for Spencer & Toby because I always found them interesting.
That’s it for my little Pretty Little Liars predictions. We’ll see what happens tonight!
I have been getting back into the swing of things and have been looking at some crafty posts again, so hopefully I will be inspired to do some posts of my own. Since summer is coming up I will hopefully also have time to do all of these things, and I’m sure I will have a wider range of DIYs to do. Although….it does look like this outside my window….
And why yes, it is March 19th.
Hiya! So I’ve seen a lot of people doing this blog, and because Olivia is so creative and original, I thought it was a good idea for me to do too! It is just basically pointing out your favourite music lately. I really love listening to music, and like to discuss it with other people, which I find difficult because nobody I know really likes my taste. Anyways, I completely realize this is last minute putting this up 11 minutes before Tuesday, and I am sure you will not be reading this today, but I’m going to try to do it. I will not be posting every monday because I don’t acquire new favourite songs that quickly, so it will just be whenever I feel like I need to share!
I am so, so, so, so, sorry it’s been this long! So ridiculous! But, I’ve started a new semester, and it’s been so full force all February. In all of my classes I’ve had multiple tests/quizes/assignments, and I have been reading To Kill A Mockingbird for class, which I have just finally finished. I know, I know, no excuses….but sometimes school life just tends to take over! On top of all of this I have headaches a few times a week, so that kills everything, and I have other things I have to do as a part of a daily routine.
Another thing to apologize for…a lack of ‘me’ posts. I’m not sure how much you guys like my update posts (just about me), but I think it’s important to do them once in a while, and it is where my blog started. I have been writing in a journal almost everyday since October, and I have just been expressing lots of deeper thoughts into it, and then posting more DIY & Fashion posts on here. I don’t always feel like writing about me on my blog and then repeating everything but in a more personal manner in my ‘diary’. But that’s not the point of this post….
I just wanted to share some things that I’ve been doing, and some favourites!
So I have probably mentioned a few times in my posts that I have not been very good emotionally & mentally the past few months. High school has hit me hard. It’s not just the school work, (I can deal with that), it’s the people. Going into high school, I lost the majority of my friends purely because we didn’t have any classes together. We drifted. And since just recently I always was waiting for people to talk to me. Well, apparently that’s not how life works, and if you want something you have to get it. At least for fourteen year olds. So, I’ve branched out. Olivia’s OUTGOING!? What!? Not exactly ‘outgoing’, but not so quiet. I have never been outgoing because I never want to disrupt the teacher during class, but it’s just the little things….partaking into a conversation with people you don’t know can really pay off. YOU broke the ice, and they will remember YOU for it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a very awkward person, and I’m trying to deal with that. It’s just now that I’ve really realized that I have to change myself a little (in a good way) to get some people to like me (the real me). So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been dealing with daily.
Apart from ‘the deep end’, I’ve been still watching lots of british youtubers and stuff like that. They are hilarious, and I, admittingly, am a ‘Zalfie’ lover. Zoe and Alfie are my favourites, and I feel like they are in the early stages of when I watched Luke & Ingrid’s daily vlogs. Hehe. I also have been tumbling a bit, which you can see here! I love tumblr! It’s really inspirational and I have gotten many ideas from there. I also just love to go an look on my page sometimes and see what I’ve reblogged. It’s sort of like my life in pictures, but not my pictures….if that makes sense…
Another thing that has been taking up a bit of my life is my room! I changed my room up a month ago, and since then have not stopped doing things to it and searching for future projects to do. I am going to do my macaron painting, which I have already started drawing, get a bulletin board, move some things around, get two new pieces of furniture, and a quote board! I will absolutely be doing an updated room tour because A LOT has changed surprisingly for only about two months since my last one.
I have been listening to soooooo much music lately, you would not believe it! I guess I just haven’t updated you with my favourite songs for a while now, so I am going to start with my music favourites of the moment. Long Live by Taylor Swift has definitely made it’s way on the list. It makes me a little more positive about going to high school everyday. I read that it is a song about her band full of average people becoming ‘the populars’ once they’re on stage, but I think it’s more of a graduation song to be honest! I hope I still like it 3.5 years from now in my senior year! Haha, I didn’t buy it for like a week because I was convincing myself that I had to wait until I was graduating, but that is just ridiculous. Yep.
I’ve started reading “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, and was searching up advertisements for the movie, and noticed there was a song I really liked, so I bought it. Haha, not really how to explain how I purchase my music sounding exciting. I went to iTunes, searched the title, and bought it. So exciting! It’s “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons. It’s just one of those songs that you’ve probably heard before, just never thought twice about it.
The last song I have to talk about it ‘Sympathy’ by The Goo Goo Dolls. When I was little, I was a MASSIVE Hilary Duff fan, and of course I have watched A Cinderella Story probably thirty times in my lifetime, and I always thought the soundtrack was AMAZING! Good job, song-pickers! This song is one I have always admired in the movie, never forgot about it, just never thought to buy it. But I did and I like it! I also have been thinking about getting “I’ll Be” and “Hear You Me” both from that movie, but I’m not too sure.
So, I just wanted to say thank you for reading and sticking with me…with March Break (and summer!) on it’s way, I will be posting more frequently I’m sure. Plus, with the spring & summer weather comes spring & summer themed posts! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Talk soon!
Ever since my last semester, taking art has made me a little more creative and want to make art on my own time. I did a couple of projects that I really enjoyed, and now that it’s semester two, and I don’t have art, I am going to start my own art project! I am so excited! The title of this post is ‘my new project for 2013’ because this is going to take me a long, long time to do. I thought I would share my painting with you along the way of me painting it, and then show you the final result when it’s finally finished.
I re-arranged my furniture in my room a few weeks ago, and now I have a nice big blank wall beside my bed. (I will be doing an updated room tour when I get everything finished because everything has changed a lot since December!). I have watched arose186’s videos for about two years now, and I also follow her instagram. I know she really loves art, and I enjoy looking through her pictures of paintings she’s completed, and just her edgy-arty style. She posted a picture of a painting of macarons she did, and I immediately fell in love with it. It’s been on my bucket list to paint something for a while now, and having a little experience from my class, I decided to take a huge leap, and try it! So, I am going to attempt to paint something similar to this.
I am not going to completely copy hers, because I do want it to be somewhat original, just inspired by this. The reason why I like this painting so much is because I went to Paris last April, and macarons are a huge thing there. When you go out of your continent (and especially to Europe!), it becomes a little special thing for you, and macarons are a cute little reminder of my trip. I actually don’t like macarons very much, but they are a very pretty food…if that makes sense….(they are constantly on tumblr…), and they come in tons of colours that will match my room!
I have been searching tons of pictures of macaron stacks, and colours, and I have a bit of an idea of what I’m going to do. I have most of the colours picked out, and I have an idea of a size of canvas, and I know I’m using acrylics, but I haven’t done any sketching, or anything yet. Plus, I don’t have any supplies because I have never done any art really at home, just in school. The reason why I say it’ll be my 2013 project is because the supplies aren’t cheap, and I am not always very good at art. I’m not too worried about the painting part because I just did an acrylic painting about a month ago, but it wasn’t as detailed as the macarons are going to be. And another issue that comes to mind is that I want the canvas to be huge, so it’s going to have to be a nice painting, and it’ll take a long time to do! Haha, I’ve never done a painting like this, so I’m a little scared. But for the new year I have really just wanted to set my mind to something, and do it, and this is something I really wanted to do the minute I saw her picture. My Aunt is an artist (painter), so I’m sure I can get some tips & tricks from her.
I love how edgy the colour brings in, along with the contrast of the background. It’s going to look awesome on my wall! I’m thinking about turquoises, (of course), browns, purples, pinks, yellows, and maybe some periwinkle…whatcha think?
This will take me a while I’m sure, but I’d like to take you along my little “I’m-not-so-good-at-this-whole-art-thing” journey. So when I start sketching, and purchasing the things I will show you! And then I will post pictures of the progress of my actual painting too. I am expecting me to start actually paint probably around May, because I wanted to get the sketches and colour scheme perfect, plus I am busy with school!
But yeah, this is my project/goal for 2013. Do you have a goal or project for the year? Let me know in a comment! I’d love to hear some ideas! I’m always into the whole bucket-listy things. Speaking of that, I’ve started a [life] bucket list, and maybe I’ll share with you what I have so far in a little while! Thank you to Arden for the inspiration, go check her out! Talk to you soon.
